MARGAO: Taking serious note of the beggars’ menace in the commercial town of Margao, residents have now demanded action from the authorities concerned at the earliest.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mahesh Dattaram Naik, a resident of Margao said that the present scenario indicates that the Margao garden has turned into a beggars’ garden, as nearly 20 beggars can be seen sleeping on the garden benches on daily basis.
“The scenes are horrible and the authorities concerned, including the municipality, need to act immediately,” he demanded.
A few days ago, Herald reported the increasing number of beggars, many times even children is a cause for concern in Margao.
