MARGAO: Restaurateurs from Margao bemoaned the stoppage in supply of mushrooms in the market and called on locals to locally produce organic vegetables on the lines of such production carried out in other states like Kerala.
Restaurateurs pointed out that usually Ganesh there was short supply maybe for a day but that this year it had stretched for 3- 4 days causing them to keep out mushroom special dishes and dishes that need mushroom from the menu.
They also felt that their business was too dependent for the such supply both of vegetables and meats including fish from traders based outside Goa who control the markets rates.
Saying it would be prudent for locals to take a leaf from ventures led by locals in other states, they felt it would not only be profitable for them but would help boost the local economy in the long run.
