Marriage certificate correction fee hiked

PANJIM: The State government has hiked the marriage certificate correction fee by almost 800 percent from April 1.

In a notification, the government hiked the marriage certificate correction fees from Rs 125 to Rs 1,000.  The State expects to earn revenue amounting to around Rs 3 cr annually from this.
Sources say that the fees were last hiked around six years ago. “Owing to passport purposes and for other purposes, many applications were received for marriage certificate correction. This will bring in revenue in the State exchequer,” sources said.
