VASCO: Hitting back at Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President John Fernandes’ remark at a rally in Margao on Tuesday, Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho has asked the GPCC president to first get elected at least at the panchayat level, before commenting on legislators.
Godinho was reacting to Fernandes’ reported remark after the rally at Margao on Tuesday, where the GPCC president had stated that Godinho’s absence will not affect the Congress party and that Godinho has just one vote.
“Unlike Fernandes, I am elected for the fifth time to the legislative assembly,” Godinho told Herald.
“I have been elected as the member of the Goa Legislative Assembly for the fifth time. Fernandes should get elected, if not for assembly elections, but at least as a panch,” stated Godinho.
“I and my workers know my contribution towards the Congress party. A person who has not even been elected, forget the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, at the panchayat level should not comment on others credibility,” added Godinho.
