The villagers put forth the demand to start traditional State level Shigmotsav festival in Mayem in par with Bicholim town. After listening to the demand, Sarpanch Veena Chodankar said the panchayat is ready to extend its full support to start the Shigmotsav festival provided the State government accepts their demand. She said she will strongly put forth the demand with Deputy Speaker and local MLA Anant Shet.
The gram sabha also discussed other issues regarding gutters, road and some other issues.
Deputy Sarpanch Pandurang Gaonkar and panchas Sanjay Arondekar, Kishore Karbotkar, Urvi Masurkar, Neha Thanekar, Narendra Mayekar, Narendra Tari, Vijay Pole, Mahesh Ghadi and Suvarna Chodankar were present.
