PONDA: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party senior leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Friday dismissed rumours that he had a “political meeting to topple the government” with BJP leader and Minister for Health Vishwajit Rane.

When asked whether he met Rane over the political situation in State, Dhavalikar said, “I am not interested in any political situation at this moment. We (MGP) have filed a disqualification petition in the Supreme Court against two MGP MLAs who have defected and joined the BJP. Let the Apex Court decide on it.”

“Now, it is very important that the Chief Minister takes austerity measures including reducing of Cabinet ministers and not the issue of joining me in the government.”

Rumours were on social media on Friday that Dhavalikar had met Health Minister and a new political equation was taking shape.

Meanwhile, speaking to Herald, Dhavlikar condemned the Directorate of Education for asking all the aided schools to pay salaries of their teachers from the institution’s coffers.

He said, “The government should not put burden on private management.”

Further he urged to make payment of the teachers through the government by taking timely steps into the matter so that teachers should not suffer.
