MGP urges govt to suspend online classes immediately

Gives July 27 deadline to resolve connectivity issue

PANJIM: The MGP supremo Ramakrishna Dhavalikar on Monday urged the State government to immediately suspend online classes across citing poor network connectivity.

Addressing media persons, Dhavalikar has said that he has made representation to the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and the District Collectors for necessary action to suspend the online classes until the connectivity issue is resolved. 

He has set July 27 deadline for the government to work out solution failing which he would be forced to move a calling attention motion in the House for the upcoming monsoon session. 

“I have written to the Chief Minister as well the Collectors to stop online education across Goa until the network infrastructure is in place; The students are facing networks issue,” said Dhavalikar. 

Dhavalikar slammed the government for starting online education for students without proper infrastructure and taking no lesson from the last academic year, wherein the students community went to similar crisis.

He also threatened to hold a protest at Azad Maidan along with student if the government fails to stop online classes within 15 days.

 “The CM is aware that there is connectivity problem in rural areas and also knows that not all the villages have mobile towers. Despite knowing about the network problem, how some of the schools have started online classes,” the MLA questioned. 

says No question of alliance with BJP

MARGAO: Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Monday again stated that his party will avoid going in for an alliance with the party engaging in switching from one party to the other. 

Speaking to the media persons, here, Dhavalikar said, “There is no question of alliance with the BJP, as they are fully into the activities of buying MLAs.”

Dhavalikar said, “The AAP leaders have not yet approached me for an alliance. However, if any political party has concern for Goa and the Goans, MGP will surely form an alliance with them.”
