PONDA: The migrant workers stranded in Ponda and other parts of the taluka are being provided with food grains, money and even cooked food by NGOs, local politicians and even the general public.
Ponda MLA Ravi Naik and Marcaim MLA Ramakrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar have also been helping the needy people by providing them food grains, money and cooked food.
After the lockdown, many daily wage earners, industrial workers, truck drivers and slum dwellers have been left jobless. Many migrants at Bablyakhali slum area said that they have no food to feed their families.
To alleviate their suffering, government agencies, several NGOs, local politicians and common people have come forward to provide these suffering people food and money.
The government agencies are also supplying food to the labourers who are quarantined at various places.
The Marvadi Samaj at Curti is preparing food packets and supplying them to around a thousand people and labourers, daily, in Ponda.
