VASCO: Minister for Transport, Mauvin Godinho at the Independence Day function slammed the mindset of a politician who opposed the Indian Navy from hoisting national flag at Sao Jacinto island.
Godinho urged people to be alert about such politicians who divide people on communal lines.
During the bicycle rally on the Azadi Ka Amrututsav function on Independence Day, Godinho said, “The recent controversy about the flag hoisting at Sao Jacinto Island may have ended but it was shameful that some people chose to oppose the Navy from hoisting the National flag at the island.”
The Minister further said, “One may give numerous excuses about the matter but no excuse is good enough to prevent an organisation like Indian Navy from merely hoisting a flag. It is shameful and it exposes the mindset of a few politicians who were involved.”
“These are the people who spread venom in the people by dividing them on communal and religious lines and then point fingers at the BJP. People must be very careful with them” Godinho added.
Later during the flag hoisting ceremony in Vasco, Godinho in his address said, “People should use the social media responsibly and to acquire information and more knowledge.
