PORVORIM: In a shocking incident, a youth from Gadag-Karnataka allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a minor girl after promising to marry her.
According to Porvorim Police, the girl’s maternal aunt from Socorro complained that her niece has been kidnapped and sexually assaulted by the accused, who is residing in a rented house at Calangute.
Police informed that the minor girl was in a love affair with the accused. On November 5, the youth on the pretext of getting married, called the girl and took her to his native place at Gadag.
Police further informed that the duo returned to Goa after 10 days and the girl went to her aunt’s place at Socorro.
Following a complaint from the aunt, Porvorim Police registered the offence of kidnapping and sexual assault under Sections 363, 376, 341 of Indian Penal Code and Section of 4 of POCSO Act.
Porvorim Police is investigating the case.
Police stated that the accused is prepared to marry the girl, but the girl’s family is against the marriage.
