PONDA: Stating that the COVID pandemic has badly affected the livelihood of farmers, taxi, motorcycle and rickshaw operators, Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar on Thursday called upon the government to adopt austerity measures and not to take up any new projects.
He said senior citizens too are not getting monthly financial help of Rs 2,000 from government and added that Griha Aadhar beneficiaries too are complaining of not receiving the money for the last three months.
He called upon the government to convene the Assembly session to discuss on various issues affecting Goans.
Addressing media persons during the medical camp organised by Bandora Panchayat and Madhavrao Dhavalikar Trust for Marcaim constituency, he said as support to the government in its fight against COVID, these medical camps will be conducted in all six panchayats of the constituency.
He urged people to undergo COVID test, check their BP, temperature and diabetes, etc in these camps to ensure timely treatment. If anyone tests positive for COVID, he/she would be shifted to Sub District Hospital at Ponda.
The medical camp will check BP, blood sugar and oxygen levels.
