Mapusa: Mapusa MLA Joshua D’ Souza declared the names of BJP-backed 20-candidate panel who will contest under the banner of Mapusa Development Front, in upcoming Municipal election.
The twenty candidates are Rama Kashalkar for ward no. 1, Chetana Chandrashekhar Benkar for ward no. 2, Mangesh Harmalkar for ward no. 3, Shreya Sushant Harmalkar for ward no. 4, Nisha Maggi Mayekar for ward no. 5, Vrunda Atul Mishal for ward no. 6 , Francisco Carvalho for ward no. 7, Marlene D’ Souza for ward no. 8, Ryan Braganza for ward no. 9, Laxmi Natekar for ward no. 10, Chetan Korgaonkar for ward no. 11, Sandeep Falari for ward no. 12, Shriya Salgaonkar for ward no. 13, Sainath Raul for ward no. 14, Swapnil Shirodkar for ward no. 15, Vishwas Salgaonkar for ward no.16, Rajsingh Rane for ward no. 17, Manisha Rohan Kavlekar for ward no. 18, Renuka Bhakta for ward no. 19 and Deepak Modeshri for ward no. 20.
Also present were former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo, panel convener Rupesh Kamat and senior members of BJP from Mapusa and others.
“Mapusa Development Front is focused on making Mapusa municipal council self sustainable and self reliant. With CM vision of Atmanirbhar and Swayampurn Goen, we want to work towards it by making Mapusa self-sustainable and self- reliant”, Mapusa MLA Joshua Dsouza said.
Stating that Women empowerment is also very evident in the panel, Joshua said,” There is reservation of 40 percent for women in the panel. We will be able to empower women with he type of reservation, I am confident that women will get opportunity and support with representation of women,” D’ Souza claimed.
“With both BJP government at the Center and state, I promise the people of Mapusa that with this panel we can achieve whatever goals that we set and good governance, stable municipality and best representation that the people of Mapusa deserve”, Joshua Dsouza claimed.
