MARGAO: Curtorim Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has reminded the government of the assurances given by them in the recently concluded one day Monsoon Assembly Session and said that sadly the assurances are sounding hollow as pandemic coronavirus cases are seeing a rapid daily spike.
Reginaldo said, “It pains me to see that pandemic coronavirus cases are increasing every day in Goa.”
“The Hon’ble CM has assured to the House ‘bhivpachi garaz na’. In view of the above statement it is seen that without proper study of the pandemic, without proper infrastructure to fight the pandemic, allowing tourist to come from New Delhi, Mumbai etc and opening the borders of the State was without proper application of mind which led to increase in COVID cases in Goa,” he said.
“The Hon’ble Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has assured the House that he is ‘constantly working on improving the unhygienic conditions at COVID Hospital. He also assured on upgrading COVID Hospital, if need be, he will not shy away from another COVID-19 Hospital in the North.”
“The Health Minister also assured to provide COVID Care Centres in every taluka so that people do not have to go elsewhere for treatment. But when will this assurance be fulfilled? Is it after more deaths occurs due to the aforesaid pandemic?” questioned Reginaldo.
