PONDA: Alleging that the State government is duplicating the work on 10 MLD water treatment plant at Khandepar for Priol Constituency, MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar threatened to file petition in the High Court if Chief Minister Pramod Sawant fails to clarify on it.
Dhavalikar alleged that the government through Scheduled Tribes fund needlessly duplicating the work on proposed Rs 100 crore 10 MLD Water treatment Plant at Khandepar River for Priol Constituency.
“The work has been proposed when the government had already commenced and completed half of the work on 25 MLD water treatment plant at Usgao Ganjem River from which 10 MLD water will be provided to Priol Constituency and that the government had even obtained a loan for it from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD),” he claimed
Dhavalikar said that already the water tanks have been constructed at Querim and Savoi-Verem at Priol to supply water from Ganjem plant. Besides, Priol is also getting water from another water pipeline passing through the side of National Highway. “What is the need for the duplication of work,” he questioned.
He said when the government has no money to pay to its various beneficiaries for the past three months; this would be a waste of tribal money.
“If the Chief Minister being a Home Minister does not clarify on the proposed duplication of work on 10 MLD water treatment plant at Khandepar River in eight days time then I would challenge it in the High Court,” he threatened.
Without taking name of Priol MLA and Minister Govind Gaude, Dhavalikar mentioned that Rs 100 crore approval is already got from the administrative section for the project based on an effort of one Minister while there is nothing clear from the Finance Department nor Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) clearance.
Dhavalikar said that the ST community fund should be used only for the welfare of the community.
He also alleged that the ST community’s money is also used on Banastari market when the general public and vendors are using it.
Meanwhile, Priol MLA and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude rejected the allegation of former PWD minister. He said Dhavalikar is making allegations out of frustration after losing the Cabinet berth.
He alleged that Dhavalikar and his brother Deepak are jealous about the development work undertaken by him which they fail to bring in Priol when they were in power for the past 10 years. “Dhavalikar failed to honour his promise of providing 24 hours water supply.”
Gaude cleared that the 10 MLD water treatment plant project is not being carried out from the Scheduled Tribes fund. Further, the project is undertaken by the WRD with due NOC, documents, considering financial concurrence.
