MMC chairperson selected for Rashtriya Gaurav Award

Margao Municipal Council Chairperson Savio Coutinho has been selected by India International Friendship society, New Delhi for the Rashtriya Gaurav Award.
The award will be presented to the Chairperson on July 10 at hotel Connaught, Delhi when the Society will be holding a conference on Economic Growth and National Integration.
Briefing newsmen, Coutinho thanked the Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat, PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao, Panchayat Minister, Babu Azgaonkar and GPCC general secretary Vijay Sardessai and his ruling councilors to prove his capability and qualify for the award.
Coutinho maintained that he did not apply nor he had asked anyone to propose his name for the award, adding that he has been successful in initiating a slew of measures to streamline the Municipal administration.
