The Goa Cricket Association will hold their elections to elect the new 11-member committee including the president for the term 2009-13 on July 26, at Goa Kshyatriya Maratha Samaj Hall, Porvorim.
The process for filing of nominations has begun and the last dates for filing of nominations is July 18. The scrutiny of nominations papers will be held on July 19 and the final list will be declared on July 20. Candidates can withdraw their nominations on July 21 and 22.
In all, 113 representatives of different clubs registered with GCA will field their candidates, while more than 700 active members will cast their votes to elect their leader.
Meanwhile, the general body meeting of the outgoing GCA committee will take place on July 12, at Hotel Fidalgo, Panjim.
According to reliable sources in the GCA, President Dayanand Narvekar has expressed his confidence of retaining his seat.
Going by records, Narvekar has made vast developments in GCA and majority of Goans feel that he should be re-elected, if the association wants to see a bright future for cricket in Goa.
