MARGAO: In a bid to resolve the biometric finger scan imbroglio, Margao Municipal Chief Officer, Deepali Naik has convened a meeting with the employees under the banner of Goa Municipal Employees Association on Friday.
Thursday saw a total of 18 municipal employees recording their attendance on the biometric finger scan.
The Chief Officer said that tomorrow’s meeting has been convened with a view to address the grievances of the employees to the use of biometric finger scan readers.
“A delegation of the Goa Municipal employees Association had called on the DMA on Wednesday to discuss the issue. It is not a prestige matter. We will hear the employees and try to address their grievances”, she said.
The refusal of the municipal employees to record their attendance on the biometric readers had evoked strong reaction from the civic body, with the chief officer issuing memos to as many as 77 employees for not using the system.
In fact, the employees have been given 48 hours to reply, even as the employees have decided to file a joint reply to the notice.
