VASCO: Former chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council Deepak Naik was elected as chairman of the Standing Committee of the newly constituted MMC Board.
Also six other sub-committees were constituted this time during a special meeting held under the chairmanship of MMC Chairperson Damodar Kaskar in the Janata Library, Mormugao Municipal Building.
This was the first meeting after the new council was formed recently after the municipal election. The councillors who wish to be in the committee were allowed to fill up the application. Accordingly, a total of 21 councillors had submitted their applications for the Standing Committee and six other sub-committees. Accordingly, all the applications were accepted and the Standing Committee and six other sub-committees were selected.
Standing Committee members: Deepak Naik (Chairman), Frederick Henriques, Yatin Kamurlekar, Damodar Naik, Vinod Kinlekar, Leo Rodrigues (members). Education Committee: Manjusha Pilankar (Chairman), Narayan Borkar, Kunali Parsekar (members).
Market Committee: Mathias Monteiro (Chairman) Dayanand Naik, Prajay Mayekar (members). Sanitation Medical and Health Committee: Prajay Mayekar (Chairman), Ameya Chopdekar, Vinod Kinlekar (members). Solid Waste Management Committee: Narayan Borkar (Chairman), Ramchandra Kamat, Kunali Parsekar (members). Development Committee: Ramchandra Kamat (Chairman), Amey Chopdekar, Shraddha Mahale (members). Biodiversity Management Committee: Yatin Kamurlekar (Chairman), Katarina Xavier, Kunali Parsekar, Devita Arolkar, Damodar Naik, Amey Chopdekar (members).
