MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council (MMC) resolved to grant yet another extension to the two agencies that handle door-to-door waste collection for the civic body.
Chairperson Damodar Shirodkar said the delay was because the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) had written to them with a technical query regarding the process.
“We will start the tender process soon. If we stop the contract, there will be chaos and complaints from the public,” he said.
Councillor Ghanashyam Shirodkar raised his objection and said he will be filing a writ petition in the HC over how MMC has handled the contracts and the multiple extensions granted to them.
