This was agreed to in a meeting between MMC Chairperson Babita Angle and Municipal Workers Union. The workers are given settlements every three years and the term had ended in July. Hence the meeting was called urgently to finalise the new settlement.
The MMC has agreed upon the new settlements of the workers.
In addition to increasing the medical allowance, garbage workers allowance is increased to Rs 1200 from Rs 1000. Uniform allowances have been increased by Rs 500.
The Employees will get these enhanced allowances from July onwards.
The meeting was chaired by MMC Chairperson Babita Angle and attended by workers’ union chief Keshav Prabhu, Secretary Anil Shirodkar and Chief Officer Yashwant Tawde.
