MARGAO: The Standing Committee of Margao Municipal Council decided to take up the pending developmental works in municipal wards including the ones represented by members of the Scheduled Tribes through self-funding.
The council has also discussed the need to finalise vending zones.
It may be recalled that the DMA had sent back the proposals for development works in some wards represented by ST members due to the paucity of funds. The DMA has asked the MMC to take up those and other pending developmental works by utilising municipal funds.
CO Agnelo Fernandes informed of having directed his office to prepare a priority list of works that need to be taken up first and proceed for approvals.
MMC Chairperson Pooja Naik said the issues with regards to the unauthorised vending of eatables and other products across the municipal areas were also discussed and the need for notifying the vending zones was also brought to the fore.
