VASCO: Vasco resident Kisan Krishnan approached the National Green Tribunal (NGT) seeking action against the illegal huts and structures on Baina beach under the CRZ Act, 1991. This will add more trouble for the 205 residents of the hutments facing demolition.
The applicant in his plea before the NGT submitted that, “There are illegal huts and structures constructed on Baina beach. GCZMA and others authorities shall act as per the law, despite writ petition number 295 of 2015 pending in the High Court of Bombay at Goa.”
and advocates for the parties having filed copies of interim orders passed in the writ petition. The issue involved in the present application is whether the illegal huts/constructions on the Baina beach are a blatant violation of CRZ notification.”
State of Goa and others respondents in the application filed by Krishnan. On May 25, the NGT heard the parties at which the advocate for the respondent sought time to file the reply. The next hearing is on July 22.
