Mormugao centres galore with vaccine receivers across all age group

VASCO: Thousands of people got themselves vaccinated against COVID-19 at various centres in Mormugao taluka. 

Frontline workers, health care workers including people above 18 and senior citizens are taking their jabs. People have been urged by the Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar and doctors to register themselves for the vaccination and get their jabs.

When Herald contacted Mormugao Mamlatdar Dhiren Banaulikar and asked about the number of people who have got vaccinated in the taluka, he gave some figures in which Cortalim Primary Health Centre vaccination cumulative till May 20, were 621 people over 18 years of age. Above age 45, health care workers and frontline workers were total 8,758. So the total vaccinated were 9,379 here. 

Further, at Cansaulim Primary Health Centre, vaccination between 18 and 44 age group, total number of people vaccinated was 605. Above 44 age group, a total of 7,660 people got vaccinated here till May 20.

Banaulikar said that as per the information available, in Vasco centres, which comes under Vasco Urban Health Centre, from March 15 to May 20 the total number of vaccinated people above 18 years to 44 years were 646. Above 45 to 59 age group 6,020 people took jab. People falling in the 60 and above age group 3,656 have been vaccinated and frontline workers 1,986 have taken the vaccine, which comes to a total of 12,308 people on May 20.
