Mormugao Dy Collector directs candidates not to hold victory rallies, processions

VASCO: Mormugao Deputy Collector issued two orders directing candidates not to organise any rallies, processions, meetings after counting of votes. 

The Deputy Collector also urged candidates to inform their counting agents to remain present at the scheduled ward-wise vote counting, on Monday.

“All the contesting candidates of Mormugao Municipal Council elections are hereby appealed to refrain themselves from organising any rally, procession, meeting etc. after the counting of votes on April 26, Monday.  Further, no permission shall be issued for such rallies and any contravention will be viewed seriously,” states the order.

In an another notice, the Mormugao Deputy Collector stated that all the contesting candidates for elections to Mormugao Municipal Council are hereby informed that the counting of votes will be held on April 26, Monday from 8 am onwards at

MPT Port Institute, Vasco. 

Round 1: Ward 1 -6 counting of votes will be from 8 am to 9.15 am; Round 2:  Ward 7 to 12 from 9.30 am to 10.45 am; Round 3: Ward 13 to 17 from 11 am to 12.15 pm; Round 4: Ward 18 to 22 from 12.30 pm to 1.45 pm and Round 5: Ward 23 to 25 from 2 pm to 3.15 pm.

The notice further states that candidates shall take note of the above counting schedule and inform their counting agents accordingly to be present at the time specified in the schedule.
