PANJIM: The Cybercrime Cell of Goa Police arrested three persons from Indore, Madhya Pradesh on the charge of duping a businessman from Porvorim to the tune of Rs 6.77 lakh by promising high returns in stock market.
The accused Chandan Chandel (32), Kuldeep Chandel (29) and Vinod Kumar Verma (30) were arrested by Cybercrime Cell Police.
Bank ATM cards, bank pass book, SIM cards and mobile phone handsets and documents were recovered. The accused cheated the businessman to the tune of Rs 6,77,650 by using computer resource i.e. emails and bank accounts, on the pretext of investing in shares of stock market and promised of high returns. They made the complainant to transfer money towards GST charges.
The entire amount was transferred by the complainant into accused different bank accounts, the police said.
