PERNEM: Pernem Police arrested one Ali Shah Shaikh, a 42-year-old native of Ekta Nagar, Mumbai for allegedly possessing narcotic substance suspected to be charas.
PI Jivba Dalvi said Pernem police received information that a person is involved in drug activities at Arambol.
Accordingly on Wednesday between 13:40 hrs and 16:15 hours, the accused was traced at Arambol parking place and the police conducted a surprise raid during which the narcotics substance suspected to be charas was found in his possession.
The narcotics substance was seized and taken into custody.
Pernem Police have registered an offence under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act. The raiding team headed by PI Dalvi consisted of PSI Harish Vaingankar, constables Anishkumar Poke, Ravi Mahloji, Kundan Gaonkar, Devidas Malkar and Jeevan Govekar.
