Mapusa police on Wednesday arrested a native of Mumbai, but residing at Gaunsawaddo-Siolim, on charges of cheating a person from Porvorim.
In his compliant, Denzil Joseph Sequeira told Mapusa police Station that accused Reginald Fernandes, having a property of 5,350 sq mtrs at Siolim valued at about Rs 32 lakh, had sold it to him dishonestly when the property was mortgaged with the bank.
The accused was arrested on charges of cheating the complainant.
Police informed that the accused is a habitual offender and was involved in many such fraud cases.
