PANJIM: The third co-accused in cricket bookie Lakhpat Jain’s murder case has managed to escape the clutches of the police with the investigation team sent to Delhi to trace her whereabouts, returning to Goa empty-handed.
Muskaan, who has hoodwinked many people using fake identities, was among the group of three, who were last seen with Jain a little before he was found dead at Altinho in April. Prime suspect Vibhor Khanna and Anuradha Kapoor have been arrested even as the former is out of bail while Kapoor is serving judicial custody.
“Our team is on its way back to Goa. She (Muskaan) has not been traced as yet. She is known to use fake identities,” PI Siddhant Shirodkar said.
While in Goa, before Jain was alleged killed, the absconding woman had stayed at luxury resorts impersonating as Vandana Singh.
“The fake identity that she used is in fact the name of her landlady in Delhi,” the officer said.
The driving licence, which was used by Kapoor during her previous trip to Goa, was also fake. “The documents and photos both women used were distorted,” he said adding the Panjim police have added forgery and impersonation in the FIR against the trio accused.
