PANJIM: The North Goa District Magistrate has again extended the ban on Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik’s entry into Goa for 60 days with retrospective effect from April 7. The order, issued on Tuesday, also bans the entry of his associates and SRS members during this period.
“The District Magistrate, North Goa, has banned the entry of Pramod Muthalik, leader of ‘Sri Ram Sene’ and any of his associates or members within the jurisdiction of North Goa District for a period of 60 days with effect from April 7, 2017 under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” the order states.
It adds that the step has been taken to prevent the possibility of disturbance to law and order and danger to public safety due to their aggressive statements or speeches that could hurt the sentiments of certain groups and instigate violence, affecting peace and tranquillity.
