PANJIM: Additional Solicitor General Atmaram Nadkarni will continue to represent Goa in sensitive matters.
The State government on Thursday issued a notification appointing Nadkarni to appear in highly sensitive matters like mining matters and other important matters before the Supreme Court of India and other Tribunals like NGT on behalf of the Government of Goa.
It has, however, clarified that Nadkarni would appear as Senior Advocate and not as Additional Solicitor general.
Under Secretary (Law) Trupti Manerkar said the appointment has been done following approval from the Union Ministry for Law and Justice.
Nadkarni is already appearing for Goa before the Mhadei Water Dispute Tribunal (MWDT), after he was granted permission to do so by the Central Government.
