PANJIM: Anti-Narcotics Cell sleuths arrested a Nigerian national with narcotics valued at Rs 15 lakh in the international market and Rs 5,000 cash during a raid at EDC Patto in the wee hours of Monday.
The man identified as Ifeany Patrick Eligwe is also suspected to be staying in Goa on a forged visa. He was arrested with 150 grams of pure cocaine, cash, passport and two mobile phones in
his possession.
The ANC has registered an offence under sections 21 (C) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, while the local court has remanded him to police custody for custodial interrogation.
The investigation team also suspects that Eligwe has been living in Goa on a forged visa. The matter will be referred to the unit concerned following which a case will be registered against him under the Foreigners Act.
