MAYEM: The Narve-Pilgao road, the landslide-prone zone, which was closed to carry out hill cutting to prevent landslides, was open for public, but it has become dangerous for two and four wheelers, after mud was washed onto the road due to heavy rains in the last few days.
According to sources, during monsoon there were frequent landslides, due to which the authorities took up hill cutting on both the sides to prevent landslides, but due to heavy rains over the last few days, mud has washed onto the road, making it slippery.
Locals have requested the authorities to clean the muddy road and take measures to prevent mud from washing onto the road in the future to avoid accidents.
“It is very difficult for the motorists to travel on the muddy and slippery road,” complained Jaidev Gaonkar and requested the authorities concerned to clear the road.
The condition of the road is such that it can hardly been seen since mud has invaded it, making it slippery.
