NCB arrests two drug traffickers in raids at Arambol, Mumbai

PANJIM: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two drug traffickers from Goa and Mumbai in a series of raids in Arambol and Mumbai within a span of 12 hours. 

In these operations conducted on April 30, NCB Mumbai seized multiple drugs of commercial quantity such as 58 grams of Amphetamine, 15 blots of LSD; Cocaine, Mephedrone and Heroin in intermediate quantity, and 59 tablets of Ecstasy/MDMA. 

Both the arrested accused is undergoing interrogation. As per details shared by NCB Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhade, Negi Café, opposite Arambol Beach was raided in the first operation wherein Amphetamine, LSD, Cocaine, Mephedrone, Heroin and Ecstasy/MDMA were confiscated. 

“This drug syndicate was run by suspect namely Mustafa alias Tiger, a Nigerian national. The caretaker of Negi Cafe Ranbir Singh has been placed under arrest, also NCB, Goa has summoned to the owner of the shack for the further investigation,” he said. 

Mustafa alias Tiger is a notorious drug trafficker of North Goa and has been running his drug trade from Negi Café. Wankhade said that efforts are on to intercept and nab him. 

In another raid, NCB Mumbai intercepted one Indian national namely Irfan Ansari, age 24, at Lokhandwala Circle, Andheri (W), Mumbai and seized 56 tablets of Ecstasy/MDMA in the midnight of April 30. 

MDMA (methylenedioxy-methamphetamine), commonly known as Ecstasy, is a party drug that alters mood and perception is chemically similar to both stimulants and hallucinogens and produce feelings of increased energy and pleasure.
