Vasco: Reacting to the ZIlla Panchayat (ZP) result, NCP Goa Supremo Jose Philip D’Souza said the party achieved 25 percent success, given that one out of four candidates won and that this is a good result. He elaborated by pointing out that ‘a national party like Congress’ had performed badly.
“Congress faced hurdles and difficulties winning the ZP seats because of overconfidence. Just placing candidates is not important but to see and understand whether these candidates will win or not is of higher relevance,” he stated further.
He also expressed surprise over BJP’s victory given that there were protests against the three linear projects amongst other issues.
