The minister said that National Career Service Portal (NCSP), which is launched in Goa earlier this month, will help us in identifying those unemployed youth.
“All those who have registered with the employment exchange need not be unemployed. Many of them are working in some or the other industrial setup,” he said. “We have urged all those who have registered with the employment exchange and also those who have not to get themselves on board NCSP. This will give us clear picture of those who are employed and those who are not, as all the data will be linked to Aadhaar,” he added.
Responding to a question tabled by Congress MLA Subhash Shirodkar, he said presently there is no provision under the Labour laws to maintain records by the Labour Department but with NCSP, in next six months, we would be in position to have some data related to the employment scenario.
He said till date, total 40,000 have registered themselves with NCSP.
All stakeholders in the employment ecosystem, including public and private sectors will be registered on to the NCS portal, which includes jobseekers, employers, skill providers’ placement agencies, local service providers and counsellors, Khaunte said.
He informed that Goa Electronics Limited (GEL) has partnered with National NCS to keep track of the jobs advertised in Goa and the total number of Goans recruited.
Khaunte urged all the MLAs to take the lead and ask colleges, educational institutions, industries in their respective constituencies to get enrolled with the NCSP.
Replying to another question by NCP MLA Churchill Alemao on the total number of number of cases pending in Labour Court, the Minister said prosecutions are been initiated in respect of 22 companies so far.
