VASCO: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday disclosed that a new flyover from Dabolim airport to Verna will be built while, an underpass costing Rs 550 crore will be tendered within next three months to ease traffic.
Godinho disclosed this after inaugurating the newly renovated overbridge at Dabolim. He said that the overbridge was the need of the hour to reduce traffic congestion. He said that with the opening of the overbridge the movement of vehicular traffic would be smooth.
Godinho said that the new flyover bridge from Dabolim airport to Verna has already been sanctioned and the works will be tendered soon. There will also be additional underpasses at seven junction points for smooth traffic flow at these locations.
Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) Project Director Christopher Furtado and officials of South Western Railway (SWR) were also present.
