Sadanand Shet Tanawade, who was named the State party president, said that he would put in a mechanism so that the ministers and MLAs will meet the party workers in the party offices.
“There was a system put in place in 2017, wherein the party MLAs and ministers would meet workers to listen to their grievances and solve them. This system has been stopped. I want the system to restart and MLAs and ministers should meet workers once a month to solve their problems,” Tanawade said.
The new president also echoed sentiments of chief minister that the workers would have to work really hard to reach the magic figure of 30 Assembly seats.
He said the party will start its work with the forthcoming Zilla Parishad polls.
Tanawade was elected president unopposed on Saturday as no other contestant came forward to file nomination.
The names of Damodar Naik, Narendra Sawaikar and Dilip Parulekar were also being considered for the post but Tanawade was elected unopposed.
