Vasco police have taken into custody a youth named Ronald D’Souza from New Vaddem following allegations of posting inflammatory comments about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which caused offence within the Hindu community.
The incident prompted Vasco’s Police Inspector (PI), Kapil Nayak, to release a statement urging individuals to exercise caution and refrain from making derogatory remarks about any religion, particularly on social media platforms. The PI emphasized the need for mutual respect and understanding among communities, urging citizens to foster harmony.
This arrest comes as a reminder of the increasing concerns surrounding online behaviour and the potential consequences of spreading religious or cultural insensitivity.
