MARGAO: “Do not sell your vote for the sake of your Children”, was the message conveyed by Goa Citizens Welfare Trust as the NGO kicked up its anti-corruption campaign in South Goa.

Michael Ferns of GCWT told newsmen that the campaign is intended to bring about awareness amongst the general public not to sell their votes for money for the sake of Goa and the future generation. “This anti-corruption sticker campaign will be taken to the nook and corner of the state to bring about the awareness. Money raised from the campaign will be used for the welfare of the underprivileged”, he added.

Ferns said unscrupulous politicians lure the voters with money, liquor and other goodies during elections, adding that the NGO has taken up the task of educating the voters on the front.

John Pereira appealed to the voters to open their eyes and not to fall prey to the machinations of the politicians.
