A special meeting was held on Saturday evening at Bicholim which was attended by members of Bharat Swabhimaan, Patanjali Yog Samiti, Gowansh Raksha Abhiyaan and Animal Rescue Squad, Bicholim. The speakers who included Kamlesh Bandekar, Amrut Singh and others stated that the shed that was constructed by BMC only to sell chicken and mutton at Nagzarwada Bicholim is now being used for illegal cow slaughter. The members have therefore requested the municipal council authorities to demolish the shed as early as possible. The members have further threatened to demolish the shed by using their 3000 members, in case the municipality uses delay tactics or remains mum over the issue.
NGOs threaten to break slaughter shed
MAYEM: Different NGOs from Bicholim have threatened to demolish the slaughter shed existing at Nagzarwada, Bicholim, which is now used for cow slaughter, if Bicholim Municipal Council authorities remain mum on the issue.
