MAPUSA: In the continuing drive against narcotic drugs, Calangute Police apprehended a Nigerian national namely Michael Nzube for illegal possession of cocaine worth Rs 1.85 lakh at Tito’s lane, Baga, on Thursday evening.
During the raid, the accused, who is a resident of Siolim, was found in possession of 37 grams of cocaine.
The illegal drugs along with other exhibits were seized and panchanama was conducted following all the mandatory provisions of the NDPS Act. An offence under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act has been registered against the 33-year-old alleged accused at Calangute Police Station.
This is the 34th narcotic case registered by Calangute Police till date for the current year.
Further investigation is in progress under the guidance of PI Nolasco Raposo and SDPO Porvorim Edwin Colaco under the overall supervision of SP North Utkrist Prasoon.
