MAPUSA: Thogo Chigozie, a 33-year-old Nigerian, was arrested by Calangute police for possessing drugs worth Rs 1,75,000, near a hotel, at Candolim, late Thursday evening.
The team was headed by Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo and comprised of LPSI Deepa Deikar and constables Vinay Shrivastav, Shasank Sakhalkar, Dinesh Morajkar and Suresh Naik.
The drugs consisted of 1,195 grams of Ganja, four grams of Cocaine and 17 grams of Charas, all worth Rs 1,75,000.
The accused was previously booked by Calangute police in 2015 in another narcotic case. He was released in 2018.
An offence has been registered against the Nigerian under Section 20(b)(ii)(A), 20(b)(ii)(B) and Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act at the Calangute Police station.
The narcotic drugs have been seized under panchanama.
