Nigerian national remanded in drugs case

MAPUSA: The JMFC Mapusa on Saturday remanded a Nigerian national Benared Nwachukwa Calistus (43) for three days police custody for illegally possessing psychotropic drug MDMA worth Rs 1.23 lakh.

According to the police sources, based on reliable information, a team of Anjuna Police headed by Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kerkar, Head Constable Shyamsundar Parsekar, Police Constables Rajesh Gokharnkar, Avir Kalangutkar, Siddhesh Naik, Snehal Malik, Sudesh Kerkar, Anant Bhaidkar and Lady Police Constable Deviya Ghadi conducted a narcotic raid at Zorwado, Anjuna and the accused was found in possession of alleged illegal drug substance. 

The police have registered an offence under Section 21 (C) of NDPS Act and the accused has been placed under arrest. 

 PSI Kerkar is further investigating the case.
