Nirankal villagers bent on driving out tribals

Irked for occupying Comunidade land and creating nuisance in their village, residents of Nirankal in Bethora Panchayat want the Vanarmare tribals shifted and have made representations with the State government to rehabilitate them elsewhere

PONDA: Villagers of Nirankal in Bethora Panchayat are irked with  the government for not paying heed to their demand to shift tribal people from village.
They were disturbed after a tribal, under the influence of liquor threatened a blind villager. Following the incident, villagers filed a complaint with police. 
Police have taken the person in custody and have conducted an inquiry in the matter. Addressing the media, villagers have demanded that the government shift, remove or rehabilitate the Vanarmare Tribe from  Nirankal  Village. 
Hemanth Samanth and group of villagers from Nirankal, who filed complaint against Vanarmare tribal youth alleged that they have been demanding to shift the tribals from their Village and rehabilitate them elsewhere, as they were causing nuisance to them, as well as threat to their life, besides being involved in petty theft of Bagayat produce. 
Villagers who came to the police station said that a tribal youth was recently found near the house of Pascoal Rodrigues and had also  tried to assault the blind man.
When locals reached the spot, they found the youth in a highly inebriated state with a koyta and lying on ground. Locals had also made videos of the incident and showed the media. 
Villagers also demanded that the State or neighbouring Maharashtra government should rehabilitate the tribe members, as they do not belong here, but had migrated to the village recently.
Villagers also pointed out that more and more relatives are also invited from Maharashtra.
Presently two policemen have been posted in the area to provide round-the-clock security.
