PANJIM: Reacting to Siolim MLA’s remarks, Minister for Waste Management, Michael Lobo asserted that there cannot be any blame game over the drugs issue.
“You cannot blame anyone or say the Chief Minister has failed. I have been able to bring it under control with raids in my constituency only because the CM has given me a free hand,” Lobo told reporters after meeting the CM. He added that in his areas of Calangute, Candolim and Baga, the drugs business was run from other constituencies by foreign nationals.
“After getting reliable information our PI Nolasco Raposo has raided the places and found drugs. I have given him a free hand as the CM has also given me a free hand,” he said, while adding that the State, which includes all MLAs; have to wage a war on drugs wherein you cannot blame anyone. “Don’t blame the CM for failure. CM has given a free hand, it is the job of the MLA to keep a vigil in his constituency,” he said.
When pointed out that Palyekar wants him to take over Home Ministry, Lobo replied saying, ‘Goa Bless Him’. “That is a political statement in his personal capacity, CM knows that. Instead I feel Palyekar should find out why there is no raid in his constituency. Let’s work together to throw this menace out of our State,” he said.
