whether rich or poor, and there should be no bar on any
section of communities.
Reginaldo was addressing the valedictory function of
computer hardware course, jointly organized by
MSME-Development Institute, Margao, Govt of India and
VP Rachol at Ilha-de-Rachol.
Speaking further Reginaldo said that while a child should be
motivated by the teachers, the choice of subjects and
medium of instruction should be left to the students and
not forced upon them. He further opined that while parents
are instrumental in giving moral and financial support to the
child to achieve his or her goals, the career choice should be
left to the students.
The MLA referred to a number of schemes launched by the
Government for different sections of people and
congratulated Joseph Vaz, Sarpanch of Rachol for
implementing various educational and career programmes
for the village students.
Cleofasio Dias, Chairperson of South Goa ZP also
appreciated Vaz for his good work for the schedule tribes
and for all-round development of Rachol and assured to
take up more projects in Rachol Panchayat area if proposed
by the Panchayat.
Raja Monickam, Director of MSME-Development Institute,
assured all possible financial support to students who have
completed the computer hardware course for setting their
own business and promised to conduct other training
courses also. He appealed to all students to approach the
Sarpanch of Rachol for enrolment to the desired courses.
Sarpanch of Rachol Joseph Vaz maintained that the people
are the better advisers and judges of adequate development
for the village and only with their support and involvement in
various developmental activities and programmes can the
local body function smoothly and efficiently.
Joseph further said that the local MLA can play the very
important role for all round development in the village and
appealed to the local MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco for his
cooperation to the Panchayat in developmental activities.
