PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that there would be no state sponsored foreign trips as long as guidelines were not finalized. However, he again defended these trips saying that there is nothing wrong with them and asserted elected representatives needed exposure.
“Nothing wrong with the trips, but we will come out with clear-cut guidelines. Without guidelines, nothing will be sanctioned,” he said refuting news that had appeared about a proposed trip to Spain.
Parrikar said that this proposal was floating around at the time when the Union tourism minister was in the State and after the proposal he had spoken to the media about guidelines. “How does a proposal make news?” he asked, saying the government had ‘come in front of you and said that guidelines would be made before any further trips were sanctioned.’
