No interruption at airport

The Bandh may have affected normal life in the State, but operations at the Dabolim International Airport went uninterrupted, as most flights were on schedule.
While tourist taxi operators and Black/Yellow taxis – the essential mode of transport at the Dabolim airport – were virtually missing in the parking lot, most passengers had made alternate plans to travel to and from the airport.
Morning operations at the airport were smooth and the airport remained closed for civil operation after 8.30 am because of naval sorties.
“Passengers, who were supposed to board flights in the afternoon, arrived at the airport in the morning itself, as most commercial airlines had alerted passengers of the Bandh and had requested them to arrive at the airport well ahead of schedule time,” said a source at Dabolim airport.
Passengers who arrived in the airport had either informed their relatives to receive them or had engaged private vehicles in advance.
