No plans to introduce negative marking: DTE

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) said they do not plan to introduce negative marking for the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET).

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) said they do not plan to introduce negative marking for the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET).
DTE Chairman Vivek Kamat said, “We do not have plans of introducing negative marking as of now and it is too premature at this stage. We do not know whether GCET will be there next year because if the All India Engineering Exam is made compulsory then we will not go ahead with GCET, but if we have GCET we can give a second thought. We don’t find any reason for negative marks to be introduced in GCET.”
He added, “For engineering and pharmacy the central government is contemplating one all India exam in line with NEET. We don’t know that decision till next year, but if no other all India exam in made is compulsory then we will go ahead with GCET.”
