MARGAO: With many a flood relief victims claiming that they have not received the enhanced relief distributed by the government last week, Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik on Thursday said that those whose compound walls have collapsed will not receive the additional relief since the government has decided to rebuild the damaged walls.
When his attention was drawn to reports that around 18-20 persons from the Sanvorcotto area have not received the additional relief from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Rajan said the 16 persons, whose compound walls were damaged, would only get their compound walls rebuilt and would not be eligible for additional relief. “The government would soon take up reconstruction of the damaged compound walls along with the bridge work. The walls will be rebuilt by the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation,” he added.
Rajan had last week distributed additional flood relief to those affected.
